Our founder and CEO, Bob Jones, began his career in the pest control industry in 1983 as a residential termite inspector for a large, regional company. After nearly two decades in the industry Bob discovered that many of the industry's sales practices are outdated and made no sense, except to drive up the cost to its services.
So, in 2002, Bob decided to do something about it. He created an easier buying process that eliminated those high-pressure salesmen from the mix and passed the savings along to the homeowner. In essence he created a more efficient and affordable way to protect his ValuePest customers' home and family from the damage and disease caused by pests. Right away Bob knew he had something big, because calls skyrocketed! Homeowners loved the ValuePest concept and the lower prices.
After working all of the bugs out (pardon our pun) of the new service system, Bob took his message to the streets, literally! ValuePest.com began advertising its new system on the radio, television and newspapers and the rest was history. While the average pest control company sells about 84 new customers per year, ValuePest has averaged over 6,000 for the last 6 years!
In 2004, independent pest control operators from across the country began to call, expressing interest in offering the ValuePest system in their area. They wanted their business to grow as fast as Bob's so he created a franchise system through which he could help more homeowners save money and help the small pest control operators grow their business. It worked great! Now, ValuePest has some 80 licensed franchises in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Kansas and Missouri.
After reading a 2010 industry survey that reported an astounding 71% turnover nationwide, Bob has decided to create another innovative program to keep good people in the industry by providing them with a pathway to business ownership.
The ValuePest Franchise-Partner Program combines people with proven industry experience, drive and determination with ValuePest's proven formula for success to create a mutual partnership and commitment. A significant benefit of the program is that talented people, who may not have upfront cash, can now leverage their experience into a business with ValuePest's financial backing and support. ValuePest is now a second generation company with Bob's two sons, Ryan and Chris, managing the home office operations. Our main focus will always continue to be providing America with the very best residential termite and pest prevention service at the most affordable prices in the marketplace.
